What if you could test tomorrow's healthcare system before it exists? As healthcare organizations face increasing pressure to implement change rapidly, tabletop simulation offers a powerful way to bring policies, pathways, spaces, and innovations to life before they reach patients. Drawing on the principles of translational simulation, this session explores how tabletop simulation can be used to safely evaluate future-state workflows, identify latent safety threats, and inform system design before implementation. Through examples spanning emergency preparedness, clinical pathway testing, policy implementation, and hospital redevelopment, participants will discover how tabletop simulation can engage diverse partners, accelerate learning, and transform work as imagined into work as done, creating safer, more effective healthcare systems.
